Wolrd Wide Knit in Public Day

All over the world Knitters will be gathering at various locations for a day of knitting. I've done this for the past three years and it's a blast! You meet tons of nice people, it's like a bigger longer Loop Group. There are several going on in Georgia, my personal favorite was this one at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park , it was easy to get to, in the shade, the tavern folks were super friendly and having a place with AC was very nice. Not to mention husbands/boyfriends don't mind coming because they can watch all the games going on TV. :) You can find other KIP's (knit in public) on the web page at the side of the blog.

Just thought I'd share :)

Thursday, May 7, 2009

woops. It's been a while since I've updated this. Sorry! I do come bearing pictures! The color is a bit odd on them, and i don't have any good ones of the finished blanket with the boarder, they all came out fuzzy. I may have to steal one from Miss Ruth.

In other news one of my favorite Knitting authors is doing a book signing and speech this month. Here presentations are always funny and its always great to have entertainment you can bring your knitting to. I didn't find out she'd be here in enough time to take off of work but some of you might enjoy it. The library has most of her books, and I also have them if you'd like to read them. She keeps a blog (Yarn Harlot) there is a link of the side of this site.

Info on book signing:

May 17 - Atlanta 1:00 p.m. FoxTale Books. Event location: Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency (CRPA)

7545 Main Street, Bldg. 200, Woodstock, GA 30188.
A $15 ticket includes admission to the event as well as $10 in coupons redeemable at FoxTale Book Shoppe and The Whole Nine Yards, a yarn store next to the bookstore.

Sorry I haven't updated this week, I'll try and get the latest photo of the blanket up sometime tonight, I didn't bring the USB cable with me or I'd do it now. I am also writing to let you guys know that neither I nor Cindy Lou Who will be there tomorrow, she's got business meetings and I've got finals stuff I'm working on. (Only 13 days left for me!) Hope you guys have fun!

More video's

Since the other videos I posted where so popular I thought I'd add a few more:

be sure to watch the other two "let me in" and "TV dinner" which are just as funny!

This one is is about a obessive Knitter (I prefer to call her focused :)

And no that is not me knitting my Doctor who scarf :)

This one is one of my favorites it has nothing to do with knitting or cats but it always make me laugh. If you like his stuff he has a few more videos that are also very funny. Some of his other videos have some mild language in them just FYI (I'm sure these days most people would say there isn't but you never know)
